Ease of implementation
The implementation of Trail includes three steps:
Creating Trail environment
Creating asset information in Trail
Labelling assets
After these three steps, the everyday usage of the system can start and the benefits are immediate.
Creating Trail environment
Each new organisation receives a cloud-based Trail environment accessible via the browser or the mobile application. The users are granted individual credentials to access the system and start working there.
We aim to provide just the right elements of the solution to each customer so in the beginning it's important to collaborate to find the right tools and remove the unnecessary ones.
Creating asset information
There are two ways to create asset information:
Use the ready-made Excel template to fill in item details and mass import the data
Create individual assets in the service
In general, it's recommended to use the Excel template when starting with the solution for the first time. It allows to import large number of items at once.
Labelling assets
The link between the physical and digital world is a very important element of the solution. There are two alternatives for labeling.
Attach an unlinked label to any device and later on attach the digital information with the correct label.
Create the digital item first and then produce a specific label for that individual asset and attach it.
The biggest difference is that in the second option, it's possible to produce also item information and organisation's logo on the label. Sometimes it's of value that for example a department is marked on the label so that users know where to return the assets after a reservation.
